| Next morning was much colder - note the improvised gloves! It took us 1 1/2 hours to walk back to the car park and we were out by 10.30 am. |

January 2017 - An overnight stay in Rangiwahia hut
5 January 2017: Ten of us, Cecily, Mark, Isla, Brielle and friends Sarah, Andrew, Kathryn and Lucy, Owen and I walked up to Rangiwahia hut in the afternoon. We had to book in advance and were very fortunate to enjoy a fine, warm, calm day. After settling in to the hut we walked further up the Mangahuia track to enjoy some late afternoon views.
