10 March - Our Thursday tramping group were invited to go on a walk on the farm owned by by one of our group (Dave). We were big group of 26. He had arranged for us to cross neighbouring farmer's land as well and we walked across the shallow upper Oroua River during the afternoon. It was a walk of 11km and took us almost six hours including several stops to learn about beef cattle farming methods, and to have morning tea and lunch followed by afternoon tea back at the farmhouse. An interesting day out! All but the last photo were taken by John B in our group.
