Arches National Park, Utah

14 June - We left the state of Colorado and drove on into Utah.  Even before reaching Arches National Park we started to see some amazing scenery.

Church Rock - Owen took this panorama

Wilson Arch - and we hadn't even got to Arches National Park yet!

Another stop was at this quirky place called Hole 'n' the Rock.  Notice the car on the skyline above the word "Hole".  It was free to wander around.
The sign says "Hillbilly Lawnmower" - part bicycle, part mower - for mowing cactus?

We arrived at the city of Moab in the afternoon, booked into a motor camp and then drove on to visit Arches National Park in the late afternoon.  This worked out well as the light was good and we avoided the midday heat and crowds.

Our first stop - "Park Avenue"

The famous Balanced Rock

It was a 45 minute walk to view Delicate Arch, and still very hot when we arrived at 7.30pm.  It was good timing as sunset was approaching.

Still crowds of people - and looking for shade!
