11 June - Santa Fe is the capital of the state of New Mexico. Founded in 1610 it is the oldest state capital in the US and is the oldest city in New Mexico. Many of the buildings however are relatively new, built in the "Spanish Pueblo Revival" style using earth coloured tonings. We caught a bus from our motor camp in the suburbs to the town centre ($1 senior day pass each!). We were instantly taken with the architecture of the town centre and spent the morning walking around, taking photos and finding a few geocaches.
Santa Fe is noted for its culture - arts and crafts, jewellery, galleries, sculptures, writers and music.

To claim this geocache you had to go to the front desk of La Fonda hotel and ask for it - a generous sized ammunition box!

San Miguel Mission - built between 1610 and 1626 it is claimed to be the oldest church in the US

I wish I could have taken some of these home!
